Supervisor: Director of Marketing

Essential Functions/Job Duties (List is not all-inclusive; additional duties will be performed as required):
•Marketing Production: Work closely with the marketing director, members of marketing team and outside vendors to provide production support for marketing efforts that grow exhibitor and attendee participation. Coordinate the copywriting and creative design for marketing pieces that include: Email, sales brochures, direct mail, print, social media and digital ad campaigns.
•On-Site Events, Programs and Features: Working with the Marketing, Operations and Sales Team to define, scope and execute on-site events such as educational programs and sponsored events designed to increase show attendance and drive traffic to the show floor.
•Social Media- Implement social media strategy; execute and extend the messaging calendar, contribute to content schedule in order to grow engagement among existing followers and acquire new followers.
•Sponsorship Marketing: Develop and organize exhibitor sponsorship packages and work with sales team as needed to develop custom packages based on exhibitor goals and objectives.
•Budget Management: Oversee management and tracking of print and production jobs; maintain budget including coding invoices and accruals working closely with marketing director and show manager.
•Media Plan Management: Working with Marketing Director, maintain planned ad distribution schedule, assist in creative development; manage layout and production of advertorial pages. Serve as primary contact with contracted creative agencies.
•Website and Show App: Ensure website and Show App are up to date with timely and relevant content; make suggestions to improve an monitor performance/analytics.
•PR & Media: Assist with various PR duties pre, during and post event; to include media pitching, media event support, pressroom support, etc.
•On-Site Directory and Magazine: Assist Sr. Marketing Manager with collection of advertising assets from exhibitors, developing content plan and proofing.
Skills and Abilities:
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail in a deadline driven, team-oriented work environment.
•Experience with and understanding of marketing planning, evaluation, messaging and measurement.
•Experience with and strong understanding of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google + as well as flickr, YouTube and Vimeo.
•Strong oral and written communication skills.
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•Strong creative thinking ability.
•Self-starter who can work quickly on simultaneous projects, takes input and direction well and is comfortable with a collaborative work environment.
•Experience with and understanding of trade show fundamentals.
•Superior written and verbal communication skills.
•Computer savvy with the ability to learn new programs quickly.
•Able to travel to Surf Expo twice yearly and other shows as required (approximately 15% of the year for up to 1 week at a time).
•Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or event management strongly preferred.
•Minimum of 5 years marketing experience required; previous consumer/trade show experience preferred.
