REPORTS TO: Interbike Marketing Director
LOCATION: San Juan Capistrano, CA
Provide support to Marketing Director and Public Relations Director in the planning, creation and execution of various marketing and PR tactics and programs that support Interbike’s strategic objectives. Duties will include: Email marketing, social media, analytics and website content updates, as well as some interaction with media and public relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES: (Listed in order of importance. This list is not all inclusive; additional duties will be performed as required.)
•Work closely with the marketing director and outside vendors to provide production support for marketing efforts that grow exhibitor and attendee participation.
•Coordinate the copywriting and creative design for marketing tactics (direct and indirect) that include: Email, sales brochures, direct mail, print, social media and digital ad campaigns aimed at growing attendance and/or sales.
•Oversee and manage changes and updates to show websites and social media sites.
•Ensure websites are up to date with timely and relevant content; make suggestions to improve traffic and click through rates, use of color, images, etc.
•Help define and execute social media strategy by growing engagement of current customers and acquiring new ones via social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.
•Conduct research as needed for lead generation (sales and attendee prospecting).
•Work with Sales and Marketing teams to develop digital sales/sponsorship opportunities.
•Assist in coordinating the fulfillment for all online and print advertising.
•Monitor marketing budgets and costs; process invoices and track payments.
•Monitor marketing and PR related activities against marketing budget.
•Manage media clip reporting and distribution to team.
•Assist with various PR duties pre, during and post event; to include media pitching, media event support, press room support, etc.
•Attend all shows when required and provide on-site support as assigned.
•Responsible for helping communicate goals, key messages and relevant logistical information to internal staff.
•Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
•Strong planning, organization and multitasking skills.
•Self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
•Excellent writing and oral communication skills, a must.
•Basic knowledge of web design including HTML and web design platforms a plus.
•Some travel to conferences and trade show is required (approximately 10% annual with overnight stays for up to one week at a time).
•BS /BA Degree in Marketing or Business preferred.
•5+ years relevant work experience in marketing, PR experience a plus
•Experience with Email marketing (Mail Chimp, Constant Contact, etc.)
•Proven success and prior experience with social media planning and execution
•Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator experience a plus, but not required.
