REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing, IRCE
LOCATION: Chicago, IL
The Audience Development Manager at IRCE is responsible for generating new conference revenue through the development of strategic partnerships, key account relations and promotion of IRCE to industry associations and groups. Additionally, the Audience Development Manager will be the primary contact for the current IRCE customer base and be expected to build and maintain relationships with key accounts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES: (Listed in order of importance. This list is not all inclusive; additional duties will be performed as required.)
•Generate new attendee leads through industry and community outreach, including associations, publications and business groups.
•Develop and maintain a prime prospect list
•Research and communicate information about targets, customers and competitors
•Manage/keep regular contact with companies on the prospect list. Build relationships between IRCE and key prospects.
•Develop acquisition strategies for key prospects
•Work collaboratively with the marketing team to define the strategy to win prospect
•Communicate the status of opportunities; articulate next steps and review with the management team
•Introduce the IRCE brand to related-industry associations and group. Develop strategic partnerships with these groups to drive attendance at IRCE events.
•Represent IRCE at various industry events throughout the year. Developing attendee advocates via events & one-to-one outreach.
•Work with Director of Marketing to develop & implement targeted marketing programs for core audiences, such as road shows, special events and incentives and specialized attendance offerings
•Assist current customers with issues & concerns. Develop advocates within the current customer base.
•Work with IRCE team in creation of advisory groups to help guide business development.
•Experience managing multiple projects: defining objectives and goals and following through to completion.
•Creativity in developing new partnership and growth opportunities
•Highly developed communication skills
•Communicate effectively and persuasively with prospective local/regional technology communities, retailers, and other online businesses.
•A understanding of the e-commerce industry is a plus
•Self-motivated with developed organizational skills
•Excellent ability to listen and influence
•Enthusiastic about contributing to business growth, brands and audience
•Collaborative team player
•Able to travel at least 25% of the year for up to a week at a time is required
•5+ years’ experience in online marketing, e-commerce, audience development and/or sales
•Bachelor’s degree in marketing preferred or equivalent experience in sales, membership development or customer care
