REPORTS TO: Director of Sales, IRCE
LOCATION: Chicago, IL
The Exhibition Sales Manager will work with the Sales Director and team to manage and execute sales efforts with both renewing customers and new prospects to exhibit at and sponsor IRCE and related events. This position will collaborate with the rest of the Sales team and Marketing for campaign execution and follow-up with prospects and support on-site to maximize customer value and experiences at our events.
Essential Functions/Job Duties: (Listed in order of importance. This list is not all inclusive; additional duties will be performed as required.)
•Sell exhibit space and advertising sponsorships via face to face visits, telephone calls, and written communications and face-to-face interaction.
•Support and execute sales strategies to maximize show/division sales results
•Establish sales targets (overall, monthly and weekly) with Sales Director
•Establish relationships with current customers to grow participation and cross sell into additional IR Events.
•Identify, research and attend appropriate competitive shows to solicit prospects and strengthen industry ties
•Manage allocation of booth space and floor plan updates
•Develop, manage and maintain prospect database
•Provide weekly support in preparation of sales reports and analysis to track current progress and historical comparisons
•Handle own administrative duties, including various administrative duties, including processing contracts and marketing mailings
•Assist exhibitors, floor managers and show office personnel at event on-site
•Perform all other duties as assigned per needs of show team
•Knowledge of e-commerce industry highly preferred
•Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
•Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
•Ability to work in a detail-oriented, fast-paced team environment
•Proven track record in selling face-to-face and over the telephone.
•Able to strategically target appropriate prospects and close sales
•Experience with EBMS or other similar CRM program experience strongly preferred
•Ability to travel up to 5 days (including weekends) for approximately 3-4 weeks per year
•BS/BA degree is required
•3-5 years of sales experience
•Successful track record in dynamic, high growth sales environments
•Business case development experience and understanding of Return on Investment (ROI)
•Conference and tradeshow sales experience strongly preferred
