SUMMARY: The Digital Marketing Manager – Internet, Mobile & Email Communications will be responsible for the execution, maintenance and evolution of all Surf Expo’s digital marketing efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Digital Marketing Manager – Internet, Mobile & Email Communications will be responsible for Surf Expo’s digital marketing and communications including website and customer interfacing web-based systems, mobile application and email marketing. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following (additional roles and/or focus will be needed as the company and department continues to grow and evolve):
•Act as the gatekeeper of exhibitor data stored in show management system and used across digital marketing platforms.
•Ensure that the data is accurately and successfully used to execute our current targeted, sequential marketing and sales initiatives.
•Execute, manage and evolve the show’s mobile application including web-based floorplan and exhibitor data/lookup.
•Implement all of Surf Expo’s website design, updates, develop of new custom pages, forms and tools as needed.
•Manage the daily execution of email campaigns for both Exhibitor and Attendee Marketing and sales initiatives.
•Track email metrics and provide insight on best practices/program enhancements to optimize customer value and campaign results.
•Analyze and report on email campaign results and KPIs, highlighting successes, trends and opportunities.
•Manage email lists including; creating and updating lists, maintaining lists, integrating with existing databases and systems partners and segmenting data for targeted email campaigns
•Proficient with web-based email platforms such as Mailchimp, or similar mail platform
•Strong understanding of web technologies and Google Analytics
•Working knowledge of PHP or ASP
•Understanding of and practical experience with APIs
•Strong understanding of web usability, interaction design, and information design and architecture.
•Knowledge of key email fundamentals including CAN-SPAM compliance, deliverability, spam complaint rates, etc.
•Strong design sense with an eye for typography, palette development, intuitive layout, and a pixel-level attention to detail.
•A passion for usability, efficiency and creating elegant, standards compliant code
•Good project management skills, ability to handle trafficking and execution of multiple projects.
•Self-driven, with highly effective time management, communication and organizational skills.
•Able to interface with departmental members and multiple cross-functional partners including Design, Buyer Relations and Sales.
•Able to keep up to date with advances in computer technology and how they affect the business environment.
•Outstanding interpersonal skills including a deep commitment to the company goals, highly adaptive, intellectual curiosity, good judgment, honesty and integrity
•A passion for innovation and an intuitive desire to build the best user experiences.
•Demonstrated experience with the design and development of graphic elements using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
•5+ years of web development experience
•2+ years experience with databases and query tools
•2+ years of experience with Mailchimp or similar mail platform
