REPORTS TO: Director of Infrastructure and Services (located in San Juan Capistrano, CA)
LOCATION: White Plains, NY
This position reports directly to the Director of Infrastructure & Services for Emerald Expositions who is located at corporate headquarters in San Juan Capistrano, CA. The Desktop Support Analyst is responsible for all aspects of Desktop Support as they relate to the Branch Office location in White Plains, New York. In this role, you will plan, coordinate and implement, independently and in cooperation with department Management, all desktop systems, peripherals and end-user devices that support the Company’s end-user community needs.
•Responsible for imaging the desktops using the Enterprise Infrastructure process and installing and configuring the system based on the respective user’s role/function
•Completes testing, evaluation and implementation of complex products, including new products, software packages, operating systems and facilities to ensure system stability
•Responsible for refreshing PC’s, disconnect/reconnect PC’s during moves, configuring multiple devices, installing printers, installing software
•Participates in project related activities (larger/more critical initiatives)
•Completes complex updates and maintenance activities to Office365 supported products with departmental procedures and standards in order to keep the systems optimized
•Captures all reported issues in ServiceWise and prepares detailed and highly procedural documentation used for internal tracking, reporting outside of the department, and/or project teams
•Completes problem analysis and resolution for medium to high impacting service issues
•Provides support of related products or service to ensure minimal impacts/avoid outages to the production systems
•Keeps abreast of technology trends and recommends alternative approaches and solutions to initiatives and challenges
•Understands and follows security processes and understands how they apply to this role
•Contributes to overall business results by making recommendations that significantly improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
•Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer-service focus and attitude at all times
•Proficient in various Microsoft operating systems including Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012
•Understanding of basic network principles including switching, routing, firewalls, and VLANs
•Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory including Group Policy Management, DNS, and DHCP
•Proficient working with various types of general software applications
•Understanding of network security principles and maintaining a secure environment
•Demonstrates ability to multi-task; Possesses strong analytical skills
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with all organizational levels
•Advanced MS Office applications skills
•Ability to work independently and manage ones time
Education: High school diploma is required. Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in field related to IT preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years IT desktop and server-support experience.
Credentials: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or other industry certification preferred.
