REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing, IRCE
LOCATION: Chicago, IL
The IRCE Database Marketing Manager will be responsible for development, management and performance reporting of the attendee and prospect database, in conjunction with Emerald Marketing Services and the IRCE Marketing team. Key functions include the development of list and segment strategies, database hygiene and appending, development and maintenance of data segments, campaign execution support and database performance. New prospect data acquisition and the effective use of current prospect data will also be a primary function. This position will collaborate with the rest of the Marketing team for campaign execution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES: (Listed in order of importance. This list is not all inclusive; additional duties will be performed as required.)
•Lead development of data strategies and implementation of list segmentation, database hygiene and targeting efforts
•Manage data and tools to support targeted marketing efforts including segmentation, personalization and tracking.
•Proactively monitor and analyze key campaign metrics (email open rates/click-through, deliverability, conversions, etc.) to identify and implement opportunities for campaign optimization and targeting.
•Research, identify and acquire new list sources and work with manager of audience development to target new prospects.
•Analyze and research current and prospect data and append needed details to allow for better targeting.
•Knowledge of best practices for database and email marketing – email distribution, dynamic content, testing methodologies, deliverability, performance metrics, CAN-SPAM laws, list segmentation, and database hygiene
•Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work around tight deadlines with attention to detail.
•Must be proactive, and have the ability to work independently/efficiently and to thrive in a fast paced environment, as well as the ability to work collaboratively
•Must be able to operate under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail
•Experience analyzing and reporting campaign results to management
•Able to travel to all IRCE shows for up to a week at a time is required
•5+ years’ experience in database maintenance, research or target marketing
•Bachelor’s degree in marketing highly preferred or equivalent experience in research, database management, marketing strategy
